Memory for Asus M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3

I'm looking for an 8GB memory kit for my socket AM3 M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3.

I actually bought an 8GB GeIL kit (EVO Leggera 1600Mhz) but the motherboard is not at all happy with them. I get BSODs and random restarts, even after setting the timings and voltage manually in the BIOS. I also used memtest to make sure they aren't faulty so I think it's some sort of general incompatibility between them and the board.

Any recommendations? I don't care make or colour, as long as they are 2x4GB and don't have massive heat spreaders.

I would look at upgrading the PSU. That 770 draws 230W peak on its own.

The PSU is powering the system fine. Since putting the old 2GB sticks back in the BSODs and other issues have stopped. That said, it is close I know, and the PSU is 6 years old nearly, so I do need to think about a new one at some point.

Can anyone recommend some memory?
