I've recently bought a Crosshair III mobo and I'm kind of stuck as to which memory to get for it. I've been looking at the 'Corsair XMS3 4GB (1x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C7 1600MHz Single Channel Module'. I was thinking of just buying one for now and adding another 3 as/when I can afford it (the mobo can handle 16Gb). Is this memory suitable for the mobo and is it ok to use multiple single channel modules? or do I need to buy dual-channal?

Sorry if the questions sound noobish... but I am a noob :p

If the memory isn't compatible could you suggest some that is? money is a bit tight so don't really wanna be spending too much.

Thanks :). The rig will be mostly for gaming, though will be looking to use it for music recording/editing in the future but wont be until I can afford a new audio interface.

If that's the case then go for 2x2gb, and upgrade to 8gb later, which will be enough for your uses. 16gb will be overkill for anything :p.
