Just ordered some components including a Gigabyte S3 board (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-064-GI)

Was recommended to get some PC2-5300 memory for it but, since the PC2-6400 was exactly the same price, I got 1GB or Geil ULL PC2-6400 (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-057-GL)

Now, firstly, just noticed that the motherboard states 533MHz, i.e. PC2-4300 1.8v. Now, is the 6400 RAM going to run in there at all and at the correct volatage (it needs 1.9v at least).

Secondly, if it is okay, am I still better sending it back and getting some 4300 (which is £20 less) or am I likely to be able to use the extra frequency headroom of this 6400?

Thanks all...

Also...

Assuming that the 1GB of PC6400 did work, if instead I went for 2GB of PC5300 (2GB PC6400 is too much) would it be a better choice, i.e. the increased ram rather than greater overclocking headroom?

Also, why is the cost of PC5300 pretty much the same as PC4300? I.e. why go for 4300 if you can get 5300 for the same price?

Cheers all!
