Memory for laptops

Im looking to upgrade up dads laptops memory and his memory type is "256MB PC2700 DDR SODIMM"

Ive been looking for a 1Gb moduel but each site says the its a 333mhz moduel, does this make any difference, will they be compatiable?

"S0 DIMM 1GB DDR 333MHz PC2700"

DDR 333 is PC2700, just another name for it.
