Memory for Z77 board

Hi

I am using the following for a new build but i am struggling with choosing compaible memory.

Asus P8Z77-V PRO
Intel core i5 3570k
Evga GTX 660 superclocked
phanteks ph-tc12dx cooler

I was tempted by corsair vengence 2x 4gb.
Not sure if the cooler will need low profile memory as it is not instock yet.
The review i read gives it top marks.

Any advice?

I have some Gskill RAM in both of the machines I built recently with two different Asus Z77 boards.

Has a RAM configutator which lets you input our board make n model and shows you compatable RAM.
I put your board in and it brought up this result

Do i need to select ddr3 1600 as a minimum?

you can get the corsair vengeance in low profile form,and yes 1600mhz is ideal

Low profile, very low latency rating, the lower the better

The same RAM but with 16 gig instead of 8

Both would work well with your board and would look good too.

1600 it is then.
Im thinking 8gb (2x4 gb) should be enough.
