Hi All,

Please forgive me if i say anything wrong here, im new to pc building.

I'm having a problem getting my recently built machine to post when using either XMP profiles at 3600mhz. My build:
Asus Rog Strix Z390-E MB
9900KS CPU (I did overclock it to 5.1ghz at 1.29v stable but have since removed this)
Corsair Vengenance RGB Pro 32gb 3600mhz
Asus ROG Strix 2080ti

When i change the xmp profiles (either) in the bios and set it to 3600mhz it just turns off and on again about 3-4times. When it eventually posts it tells me that the RAM speed is set 3500mhz? If i go back into the bios and change it back to 3600mhz it does the same thing again.

I know the RAM isnt on the QVL list for my mb, is this the reason or am i missing something?

Cheers,
Jon

Also, DDR4-2666MHz is the max supported memory speed for the Intel part as far as I can tell, anything more than that is not guaranteed! It looks like it's getting close, @ 3500MHz, but not the full XMP. As Andarial said if you want the full 3600MHz then you are going to have to try messing around with voltages, or just stay with 3500MHz and make sure you are stable at that - then push for higher.
