I've noticed that memory seems to have gone up quite a bit in price on all sites. I would have thought with DDR 2 here that DDR memory would have dropped considerably in price. Not the case though and it looks like DDR memory has went up in price?

Its the same with a lot of items in the computer world.

When something nears the end of its life, and is replaced by something newer and better, then you'd expect the price of the old item to fall. But that doesn't always happen! Generally the old items are harder to come by as manufactrers move to producing the newer product, and so the price rises. That coupled with the fact that retailers know that people are prepared to pay a premium for the "convenience" of staying with the old parts, means that prices often increase.

Look at AGP cards for example - often they are a lot more expensive than the equivalent PCI-E card!

True. I need 2GB of RAM and my mobo is DDR compatible, and memory costs about the same as the graphics card.

And 3 months...

Yeah, prices do seem to be creeping up though.
