memory help please

Hi, firstly im not at pc which has problem, im on fone to my brother 200 miles away !

4 x 512mb in asus a8n-ali premium

problem: pc working fine then suddenly stopped.
checked each stick in each bank...some work in certain banks some dont.

why would this be??

Well ram is like any other component and can be working one day, and not the next. You'll need to run memtest or similar to see if it's a ram fail. Worth checking your bios settings are OK as well.
