Hello.

Got a weird problem here am running vista home basic with 4 gig of ram.
When i have Sli turned off in nvidia settings and turn on memory hole in bios my pc boots with no problem and reports the full 4 gig of memory but when i turn on Sli the pc will post windows loads but i get a black screen at login.
If i turn on Sli and turn off memory hole the pc loads but only reports 2814 mb ram. my pc specs are below

X2 AMD 64bit 4400
ASUS A8N32 SLI DELUXE
X2 EVGA 7950GT SUPER CLOCKED
4 GIG MEMORY
ENERMAX LIBERTY 500W
WINDOWS VISTA HOME BASIC 64BIT

Regards

Neil

Hi Zap.

Yup bios is on revision 14.05 but its beta ?

i have tryed the version under that same problem

Silly question, are you using the correcr video out port on the graphics card

Do u mean the connection at back of card that takes the adapter for monitor if so i have tryed both

Yeah, I know cards come with like Two dvi this days, just a thought that it may be using 'the other one' compared to your normal one, but if you've tried both, then my guessing is finished :p

Really strange error, best guess other than that is that the mobo doesn't fully support 4GB and SLi at the same time (as you've seen :p).

Doing some reading in other forums and a lot off ppl are having the same problem it appears vista 64 bit does not support 4 gig  thought this was only windows xp 32 bit that had this problem

Yeah I thought that one of the major reasons for the average person to buy 64bit was to utilise 4GB of RAM ...
