Hey guys, just got my first set of 1066 ram, it constantly shows as runing 537mhz.

What and where do i need to do to get it runing at the full capacity?

Mobo is an Asus p5n-t Deluxe,

I have never tinkered with ram so dont know what to change. CPU isnt overclocked either

Where is it showing it running at 537Mhz? if thats what it says in cpu-z under memory->timings->frequency then it is running at 1066. (simplified its double data rate memory so the bus is 533(537) but the effective performance is 1066MHz).

lovely. i dont fancy overclocking it im runing 2.4ghz q6600 stock and ram at stock and 2 gfx cards dont see the need just now everythings sweet as it is

Cheers Guys

The newer Q6600 don't clock that nicely. Or it may be that I've got one of the bad ones. Mine need 1.4875 Vcore to stay stable at 3.5Ghz. VID of 1.3v. And that's even with Loadline Calibration Enabled, If disabled, I'd need a Vcore of 1.49.

CONVINCED. Ok you have badgered me into pimping the quad core. i want 3.2ghz, so what is the best way to go about it and will the stock cooler cope with this?

I did have it under water but the big water cooler from Thermaltake is guff and was cooler on air than with water, i know that doesnt make sence but its true.

So what do i need to do

No, the Stock Cooler won't cut it. You need an Aftermarket cooler. You can reach 3.2Ghz with an aftermarket cooler.

Cheers. What cooler is being recomended these days?

I always liked the look of the Tuniq tower but dont fancy shelling out so much money.
