Memory in Task Manager... Not Quite Right

Would be useful to see the performance tab for memory with the break down of usage and also check the resource monitor memory section to see if a lot is allocated to hardware reserve, etc.

There are also known memory leak problems with the Killer NIC driver and some of the recent updates to Windows 10 so that is worth checking as well.

I find Windows 10 eats ~40-45% memory just sitting at desktop (on an 8GB system), and as soon as chrome is open that takes me to 50-55%. Then chrome will use 1.5-2GB when I'm working (20-30 tabs) and sit at 80%. No matter what else I do, windows seems to manage RAM usage to 80%. It's all weird and non transparent, not like Linux at all :(

Windows especially 10 does a lot of caching - it is traceable but a little non-intuitive. A lot of that memory isn't "used" as such it is still available to be freed up for other uses if required.
