Hi all,
I hope ive put this in the right place, as i wasnt sure as its kind of a ram question, but maybe more general, anyhow, my question that i hope will be easy for someone around here to answer is this.
Im looking at adding some more ram to my pc, as i have 1gb at moment and would like to possibly go upto 2gb. But before i do that, i was wondering the following question. Ive noticed in some recent games, sticking details up is no problem, all the usual things, great. But putting texture details to maximum can usually be ok, but sometimes cause stuttering or other problems, in some rare cases occasional crashing. Now if i slightly lower texture detail settings (as i assume then uses less ram), performance is spot on, no stuttering, or any kind of problems whatsoever. So, the main question is, will getting more system ram , ie going from 1gb to 2gb help this problem ? or is it more to do with the ram on the video card ? My pc is a 3200 athlon 64, 1gb (2x512 ddr400mhz) , and 7900gs 256mb video.
Any input into my 'system ram or gfx card ram' question would be appreciated, before i spend lots more money on one or the other. (or both if i could afford it, which i cant
Thanks again.
