Hi all,

I wasn't really sure where to put this (Overclocking? Memory?) so I've stuck it here! I'm planning on finally leaving good old XP SP3 behind and heading over to Windows 7 64 bit RC. To do this I'm going to need to up my memory and am just wondering whether or not my OC is likely to hold if I shift to a 6 gig setup (2x2gb + 2x1gb)

I've currently got Corsair Dominator 2GB XMS2 PC2-8500C5 installed (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-119-CS&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=817) and am thinking of adding this to the mix:

My system is based around an Asus p5b deluxe and Core2Duo 6300 @ 3.4 Ghz. This makes the FSB 486mhz, or 972 at DDR2, and both memory sets are rated to 1066@5-5-5-15 so it's within their specified operating range.

I haven't ever tried mixing different memory - or indeed ever running more than two sticks - so I'm not sure whether or not I'm likely to encounter any trouble?

Cheers for any advice!

I figured there might be an issue with the NB. I guess it'll be a case of seeing whether a lower clock speed & 6 gig runs better or worse than 3.4 clock with 4 gig...
