Is it possible for memory to come loose from the board slot?

Reason I ask is every few weeks I start to get cold boot issues which gradually gets worse till it stops booting at all mostly failing on the memok light. The memory start being detected only as 1333 not 1600 and the memory throughput as seen in memtest drops as much as half.

This eventually starts to grind me down so I go through the usual checks of running each stick individually in the various 4 slots clearing the overclocks the works, normally after doing all this and plugging everything back in and loading the overclocks it runs through memtest no problems.

If it was just a one off id put it down to school boy error of not pushing everything home but having done this 3/4 times in the last 2 years im starting to think its more than just that.

The dominator sticks are large and relatively speaking heavy but when clicked into the board they shouldnt be coming loose in the socket should they? Its not like the pc ever really moves.

Has anyone come across corsair doms or other large heavy sticks coming loose periodically?

could be down to running 32gb

how much vccio or vccsa voltage you using in bios?

it shouldn't come loose no,a knock or a jolt might upset things though as can a flexing motherboard it can fracture the tiny copper traces inside the pcb and affect memory,so don't press down on the board with any great force

ive only got vccsa and it running at stock which is .95 i think. I have tried increasing that and the dram voltage. The only thing that seems to help is reseating the sticks.

It's possible, but it's highly unlikely, just like you said, systems barely moves to no movement at all. I've never come across an RMA with that particular problem. Those chips are soldered on to the PCB pretty well. Have you checked each stick physically? check for damage pins. What about your board's DIMM slots, have you tested each and made sure its not the culprit.

Also, is that 2 set kit or 1?
