Hi guys,

Just bought a 32GB 3600mhz Patriot kit to upgrade from my current 16GB 3000mhz Corsair kit. Part number for the new Patriot kit is PVS432G360C8K. It should run 3600mhz at CAS 18.

Unfortunately I can't get it to run at the rated speed/latencies at all, regardless of the settings I'm using.

Here's what I've tried:
  • Updating to latest BIOS (dated July this year)
  • Setting SOC and VDDC voltage manually to 1.1v
  • Setting DRAM voltage to 1.4v
  • Setting 'gear down mode' to enabled
  • Setting XMP profile 1
  • Setting XMP profile 2
  • Manually setting DRAM speed, FCLK and basic latencies
Nothing seems to work. The machine will boot with default RAM settings - 2666mhz and dreadful latencies, but nothing else I've tried will boot.

System specs as follows:
  • Ryzen 3700X
  • MSI X370 Gaming Pro Carbon flashed to latest BIOS
I've checked and the RAM isn't on the QVL for this board, so it may be completely a no-go, but is there anything else I can try to get this new kit to run at 3600mhz / CAS 18?

Cheers

Yeah, I've got it to boot with some pretty slow timings at 2933.

Gonna see if I can keep increasing the speed with some lax timings, and then reduce them slowly.

Anything over 3200MHz is technically out of spec for the CPU it may simply be the controller isn't up to higher speeds and/or can only manage them with say up to 16GB.
