Memory options for Aorus Master 2 * 16GB @ 3600

Hello,

So I have been working down the memory tested list provided by Gigabyte for the Aorus Master X570.

Now in the list they have tested 4 * 16GB of various sticks, now I am assuming that I could go with that product (the the 2 * 16GB version), since the the 4 * 16 has been tested?

The current machine I have is 10 years old (Good old I7-920) and is the last time I built a PC, I initially didn't follow the tested list 10 years ok, and got spanked for it :) So I am being more careful this time. I appreciate 10 years is a long time in pc self build!!!

Anyway has anyone has used 2 * 16 GB @ 3600 in the Aorus Master, which isn't on the tested list?

Any thoughts are appreciated.

This seems ok => CMK32GX4M2Z3600C18. I am looking for memory that is going to go on and on ... especially given how long I have kept the last pc.

I did notice the little disclaimer at the bottom, about dies being swapped.

I bought 4x32gb ECC Samsung DDR4 sticks recently for the same thing. Samsung C die. It’s maybe not as well binned as the B die but it’s still highly tweakable. My Xeon only supports up to 2400 so I’m running it at stock but others have theirs running 4000MHz and higher on Ryzen.

Obviously you’d need to check your board will take ECC but you can buy a used 32gb stick for around £80. Quite a bit cheaper than the desktop stuff!

So on the subject of memory does anyone know the difference between CMK32GX4M2D3600C18, which corsair list and CMK32GX4M2Z3600C18 which Overclockers list. Not the price, but the difference between M2D and M2Z in the part no.s. On the corsair website they look the same. Just wanted to know if there was some subtle thing I was missing?
 
On the subject of memory, I ended up buying

Corsair Vengeance LPX Black 32GB 3600MHz 2x16GB DDR4 Memory Kit
CMK32GX4M2D3600C18

Which seems to be working fine, about 2 months in. When I bought it, it was £150.98, it's now about £172.99. I hope that helps anyone who follows.

They are on my Ram shortlist.

Yes, shaf has used these and they worked fine, see my link in the post you quoted (remember it's technically overclocking as 3600MHz is above AMD's guaranteed 3200MHz so silicon lottery applies).

I haven't tried tightening the timings, I believe there is less headroom than the much more expensive Samsung B Die. However, you should still be able to get something out of it if you feel it's worth it.
 
Just for the sake of completeness Buildzoid apparently found that 4x8GB was giving better results than 2x16GB. I was surprised as I'd always been led to believe four sticks of more strain on the memory controller. Anyway I'm waiting for 4x8GB of the new 8Pack 3600MHz C14 to arrive and see how they do on my Aorus Master.
