This is the memory info for the motherboard im looking at. Not built a pc in a while so need a little help with info.
Some have (OC) next to them. Can I use this or is it meant for something to do with overclocking?
Memory Speed (Mhz)
  • DDR5 - 4400(OC)
  • DDR5 - 4800
  • DDR5 - 5200
  • DDR5 - 5600(OC)
  • DDR5 - 6000(OC)
  • DDR5 - 6200(OC)
  • DDR5 - 6400(OC)

Is this an AMD board? For Ryzen 7000 the max rated speed for 2 sticks is 5200 and anything higher means you overclocked the memory controller, but you can generally run up to 6000 with no issue. Above that, it depends.

Yes this is an amd board for ryzen 7000. Am I better sticking with 5200 then rather than going higher

6000mhz is the sweet spot ,This has good timings at 6000mhz for the price but is RGB

What ive found out only yesterday, get 6000mhz, but get a kit off the QVL for the motherboard you are looking at, otherwise it going to be very touch and go as to how it performs or even boots, especially if your board has a earlier bios on it, theres lots of reports of ASUS board being stuck on Q code 15 which is ram related, I picked up a G.skill Trident Z5 kit, thankfully my exact kit was on the QVL and not that expensive for G.Skill DDR5

Which G.Skill kit did you get exactly? I'm looking for a set of ram for my potential Asus ROG Strix X670E-A motherboard purchase and love the silver heatsinks on some of the G.Skill kits.

G.skill CL32 Trident Z5 6000mhz F5-6000J3238F16GX2-TZ5NR which is on the QVL on the ASUS wedsite

Got it from the rainforest by the way, by far the cheapest.

I'm also using the same kit with my Asus ROG Strix X670E-A and it works great, will be buying some more for my son's build later in the year.

I would have got the cl30. But it was out of stock and I don't think I would notice the difference when playing games.
