A couple of years ago i bought the following bundle from OCUK.
*OVERCLOCKED* AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 955 Black Edition 3.20GHz @ 3.60GHz
Gigabyte GA-MA790XT-UD4P Motherboard
Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz
it has served me admirably over the years and i have just upgraded the graphics card to a 6950 and it still gives great bang for buck in things like BF3.
However, i have never been able to run the memory at 1600mhz.. only 1333(?)mhz.. Is there an "idiots" guide to getting the memory running at the rated speed or is it pretty much not needed anyway?
Also, if i wanted to add another load of memory should i just get another 4 or 8 gig of the same stuff for compatability's sake?
