I tired to ask this in the overclocking forum but there was no answer, as this relates to memory i thought i would try here.

I've overclocked using the auto function on my motherboard and looking at CPU-Z it says that the "Uncore Frequency" is 2250.2 MHz. so does this mean my memory is running this high? also the voltage level for the memory is 1.650 Volts is this to high? (i've pasted part of the CPU-Z report below)

Thanks

Not 100% sure but uncore is the clock speed of non main cpu units. So I think it is the northbridge frequency that CPUz means. Northbridge controls the memory so a higher clock will increase performance but I think it can also can instability at higher clocks but 2250 should be ok. It says your memory frequency is 600MHz so it is running at 1200MHz as memory can perform two cycles per clock. Your sig doesn't show your memory so I am not sure what speed and voltage it is meant to be set at for default, there are lots of ram sets called Corsair XMS3 so it could be anything. A link to what you bought will help.

I am not the best person to answer but this should help a bit.

Well you won't be overclocking it really as it is sold to run at 1600MHz. If you go into BIOS and into where you adjust system frequencies there should be an option called DRAM Frequency. Set this to 1600MHz and then save and restart.

Right i've changed the DRAM Frequency to 1500mhz as it was this or 1200,1500 or 2000mhz.

In CPUZ its saying 750mhz at a FSB : DRAM of 3:10.

Everything is stable so i'm not sure if l should try the 2000mhz setting? would this do any damage to my ram?
