Memory Overclocking, Worth It ?

I have my 980 overclocked to a stable 1500/8000, I lowered it down to 7800 and noticed zero in the way of fps differences, Is memory overclocking actually worth it ?

It gives you a few more FPS but its not as drastic as overclocking the core.

It becomes more relevant as resolution increases, but as above, core is king.

It also depends on the card, some are more vram limited some more core limited. You would think a 980 would get more benefit from vram overclocking than the 970 for example, as the 970 has less shaders and the same vram bandwidth.

Also depends on the game/benchmark. I know that unigine valley loves high memory clocks.

But a 2.5% reduction isn't going to be noticeable in game. It might decrease FPS by about 1.
