Memory performance and timings

I'm a self confessed nub in regards to memory, however I've recently started to dabble in changing memory timings.

Before I ran my OCZ ram at 940Mhz, since last night out of boredom I decided to tighten the timings instead at 1:1 with cpu fsb. The motherboard changes it automatically to 5-5-5-15. However I've managed to gradually decrease these timings down all the way to the lowest values that was available, 3-1-1-1.

This booted into windows just fine, but CPU-Z only reads 3-3-3-5.

So basically I'm wondering what I can do to increase performance, and why the bios timings aren't the same as the CPU-Z.

Ohh and I've done the Orthos Large FFT test, it's stable.

Any help will be much appreciated
