Hi,

Any idea if the memory prices are going to head up or down in the near future, think I remember reading a post from Gibbo saying that they would be dropping to late summer (but it could be my imagination)

Just wait for a big earthqake ANYWHERE in the world and the memory prices will start to rise. Also the legendary memory boat occasionally goes round in circles for a few months to cut supply also increasing prices. :D

I can't imagine that they'd jump up in price by a large amount overnight (though I may well be proven wrong) so there should be some warning at least.
For now I think they're holding steady, with small fluctuations.

I dont care what anyone says, only reason memory prices are low is because all manufacturers want to get rid of all their stocks otherwise when DDR3 Ram really does become worth while to the average retail buyer they will have all this DDR2 left over & no one will want to buy it then.

Then soon as people realise how good the DDR3 will be, you will see a sudden influx of 2ndhand ram on famous auction sites etc, its not a bad thing at all really as its just a good way of keeping the memory economy afloat lol. :)

All this cheap silicon / supply on demand crap, I bet they still make a nice tidy profit at these low prices & it goes to show how much these companys really do make especially companys like Crucial/Micron as they are both part of the same group, they must make a fortune selling their IC's to other manufacturers.
