Are the memory prices going up?

I'm considering a new machine towards the middle of the year. Thinking about buying the RAM now, as the prices can only go up now, and its 'seems' they are already?

Is this correct or can we expect it to stay the same for a while yet?

Certainly did.

Except thats from September. I've noticed them going down up til the new year.

Its now going up i've noticed. Otherwise since september its gone down im sure.

The thread was started in September last year.

If you actually read through it you'd see there have been several posts in the last couple of weeks regarding higher prices.

Sorry I see that now.

I already bought the gskill 8gb x2 few days back. When a competitor had already raised their price from 37 to 41. I looked at another competitor (they sell books too) and they were at 37.49 bought 2 and now its 42.29 there.

Glad i bought it intime.

if anything i think hdd prices and memory will drop further, there was massive production delays which caused the hikes in prices back then, flooding in thailand etc etc, saying that the HDD market still isnt recoving fast enough for my liking at the rate im filling my storage drives

I hear that. In desperate need for a 3tb at lease. But I do believe the time has come for RAM, it can only go up and is.

g. skill pi 1600 cl6 1 year ago brought for 200 dollar 6gb

now brought another 6gb for 100 dollar with delivery

now in usa

yeah just bought some more of that ram myself 16gb is overkill for me(but at that price you'd be silly not to pick some up) but it should last me for many years to come and well into my next ivy bridge upgrade.

Just picked up 8GB for myself even though I dont have a rig it will fit at present but hey at £29.99 it would be rude not to....

As for the memory price fluctations....theres a forumla for it I was told when I was a kid.

When it was up it was up!
when it was down it was down!
when it was neither halfway up!
It was neither up or down!!

Hold on that might have been the Grand old Duke of York... :D

Happy days 8gb for £30....bargain... now all I got to do is find the rest at bargain prices
