Hi,

Motherboard: SABERTOOTH X58
Processor: i7 950 3.07Ghz
Power supply: 850w

I've just got this: Corsair Vengeance 12GB (3x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Triple Channel Kit (CMZ12GX3M3A1600C9). To replace the 4 gig Corsair 1600Mhz.

However i'm now having issues.
At the moment to debug i've just got 1 stick in and i've reset the bios to its defaults.

the issue is, if I flick the power switch at the back on the PC wait 10 seconds then turn it back on then press the power button everything starts fine.

If I then shut down, wait 10 seconds then press the power again it just powers up and never POSTS. If I flick the power switch at the back again, wait 10 seconds and turn it back on then hit the power it boots fine.

I've tried each of the sticks 1 by 1, updated the bios and still the same.

Any ideas ?

yep everything at stock at the moment.

By the looks of it , it might be either a power supply or a motherboard feature that stops damage if you continually restartthe machine within a short space of time?

Just installed the full 12 gig now and done the usual trick of turning the mains off, then shutdown, but this time i've left it for a good 10 mins and its started fine. ummmmm

i would check and make sure dram voltage is set to memory spec,1.5v or 1.65v

then see how much vtt or memory controller voltage is being used in bios,i forget what its labelled as on those boards, you might need abit more than what auto is using

just re applied the overclock so

DRam voltage at 1.65
cpu voltage at 1.34
Cpu ratio at 22

Seems to be holding steady with an overclock at 4.02 and restarted fine on the 1st attempt twice :)

here hoping it continues

if it's anything like my P8P67 PRO, then with the memory in the set of slots the manual said to use (A1/B1,A2/B2 etc) it wouldn't POST at all, so I put it in the supposedly wrong slots and it's been working great since january. Hopefully that will solve the issue for you *crosses fingers*

*edit: I see it is now posting, I should learn to read*
