Hi wonder if u can help,

I have an asus a8n sli dlx board which can support a max of 4gb.

I have got 2x1gb sticks of Corsair twin x ddr400 and 2x512mb sticks of Corsair twin x ddr550 - in bios it says i have 3072mb of ram installed but elsewhere it shows up as only being 2.5gb - what gives?

amy idea what happened to my 512mb of ram?

pls help

I know what you mean. I loose upto 3Gb. Bios counts 6144Mb, CPU-Z sees the same as does SysInfo. But available memory is reported as anything from 512 to 2048. On another Forum, someone re-wrote the op sys to count and use all physical memory. I will try and find it. But as for now, just thank gates for mass producing something which can not handle hardware upgrades. Hopefully Vista will solve all our problems. As note Linux 10. does the same...
