Got my hands on an old CAD PC from work, i7 920 @ 2.67, 12 GB.
For me to do a bit of CAD work from home and the odd bit of browsing, its fine as is, but... I think there's something up with the memory, there's actually 4x 6GB sticks in, Windows only recognising 12 GB, and only 6.99 is usable.
The mobo is Asus P6T, it says in the manual (if I'm reading it correctly) max is 12 GB I can have on this setup.
I upgraded the BIOS to the latest version from Asus, incase it was something to do with that, but still no joy.
Any help appreciated, tried the manual, but its a bit gobledegook to me.....
