Hello there, i currently have the 'G.skill Ripjawx 2x4gb ddr3 pc3-12800c9 1600mhz on a gigabyte p67a-ud4 with i7-2600k @ 4.6ghz
im looking to add more memory but the problem is that i can only get these sticks in twos or three's and my cpu cooler is covering one of the space memory slots
so my questions are, will using another branded stick running at 1600mhz cause any problems
and also, occasionally my pc will not start and revert to its normal spec of 3.4 ghz and it will run the memory at 1333mhz even though they are 1600mhz
why is this?
there is no over heating at all, case temp is always below 30, cpu on load is rarely over 65c
