I have just bought myself 2 sticks of gigabyte corsair twinx ram i aready have 1 gigabyte of corsair twinx in two 512 megabyte sticks in my motherboard. should i upgrade it to 3 gigabyte or should i just use the 2 gigabyte in dual channel,
If you see what i mean will it be overkill going to 3 gigabyte or not?

Right, you're on A64, so running with 4 memory modules will mean you're stuck at a 2T command rate, loosing you about 3% performance. Running with just the 2x1Gb modules will mean you can run at 1T, this will give you the best results unless you manage to fully utilise your 2GBs of memory and start using virtual memory (unlikely for gaming at the moment, you may get there with photowork).

I'd go with 2GBs for now, and after a heavy session check your peak commit charge (Press CTRL+ALT+DEL, go to the performance tab and check it there) if this is greater than your available physical memory then you may benefit from adding the extra modules.
