Hi guys, just got around to setting up the memory timings properly on this PC.

Asus P5K Deluxe
Q6600 (not overclocked)
Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2-6400C4 TwinX (2x1GB)

Just set the timings to 4-4-4-12 (they were 5-5-5-15) by default. The voltage was on "Auto" which would be 1.8V would you think? (i tried changing the timings before and didnt change the voltage from "Auto" and the PC had some cold boot issues) So i changed it to 1.9V. Do you think this will be ok?

I have left the memory speed at default in the BIOS, should i change this, is it supposed to be 667mhz for this CPU or will it not matter as im not overclocked?

Cheers in advance

Excellent thanks, well CPU-Z tells me my RAM frequency is 400.9mhz, i may just leave that as default, that is correct i take it? It doubles up to 800mhz am i right?

Also i have just set the memory to 2.1 volts after a bit of googling it seems they are happy to run at that voltage and its recommended if you are running at 4-4-4-12.

I set the command rate to 1T, do you think its likely to handle that easily?

Cheers!

Just booted for the first time today, switched on and the machine powered off and then back on again. Its not happy about something?

Any ideas?

Cheers.

Booting from completely cold it powers on for about 2 seconds, then powers off (like its restarting) and then boots normally.

Seems fine now, it did this before when i set the timings but didnt change the voltage, not sure why its not happy now.

I have put the Command Rate back to 2T for now, shall see how it goes.

Edit-Realised its only doing it when i set "AI Overclocking" to "Manual", which is the only way to set the DRAM Voltage.

So i have set the memory timings to 4-4-4-12 and CR 2T, i guess the "Auto" voltage is set to 1.8v, will this do any harm you think?

Cheers
