memory question

I currently have Kingston HyperX Savage 8GB DDR3 2400MHz and was going to buy another 4gb of memory. If i buy another 4gb stick of it would it still run at the same speed as the other 2 channels or would i be better getting another 8gb to put in my last 2 slots?

You would see better performance by running 2 sticks of 4GB, so then if you have 8GB all ready running in dual channel it is quicker than 1 stick of 8GB ram. so it is better to have 4 sticks of RAM that is the same, then 2 sticks of RAM the same and one odd one. You will see a difference in my opinion. i would just match the other two sticks of RAM you have. Dual channel is the way to go

tri channel you mean? yes its marginally better than dual channel mode

I doubt you'd run 12gb tri channel at 2400mhz though,1800-2133mhz at a push
