Memory recommendation for mixed mobo

Hello,

this is my first posting on this forum.

I currently own an Asus A8V Delux with 2Gb of Crucial 'value' RAM sticks.

Later in the year I plan to upgrade this to one of the new 680 Sli boards and get a quad pentium (when prices come down a bit!) -possibly this one: Asus P5N32-E SLi nForce 680.

What I would like to do is get some good memory now to improve performance on my current board and then 'take it with me' when I go to the SLI board. Is that possible? Any recommendations? (For example would the "Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2 Dominator PC2-8500C5 " work on my present board?)

P.S. The Asus board supports "DDR400 Ram" if that helps.

You will not be able to use the same memory for each board. The A8V board uses DDR(1) memory and the the 680i boards use DDR2. They are not compatible.
