My board is here. http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=4CoreDual-VSTA&s=

What's the best memory to get, DDR2, at 667MHz? I have a E2140 (not oc'd, but was running at 2.2 GHz for a while there.

I'll get 2x 1GB sticks, what PC number should it be? PC4200?

Thanks all

read if you can be bothered:

I have 2x 512MB TwinMOS DDR ram that I got about 5 years ago and recently #I'm getting loads of errors which I think are mem related, stop errors, and memory could not be reads. I ran memtest ages ago and it did flag up some problems, so I need to get new mem.

i've got that motherboard.. (dont like it) .. it will only take 2gb ram, and you can't overclock the ram...

How do you mean? My DDR 400 was running at 250+ Mhz?

Besides I didn't buy the board for OCing, I bought it cos it was cheap and provided a good upgrade path, with DD1 + DDR2, and AGP + PCIE.

Thanks Cob, I'll get some PC5300.

i've heard this mobo hits a wall at 291...

Yeah, I read a while back that the OC potential is limited, but as I said i's not a concern of mine.

291 for DDR?

as posted above it'll goto 333 for DDR2.

The alternative at the time for me was a SATA card + 2x 500 gig drives, which equated to nearly 200 at the time, but I got the board and proc for 70 new, plus the drives came to about 220. and keep my mem, PATA drives, and AGP gfx,. No brainer really. From a XP1900+
