Hi

Currently have installed 4x1GB PC5300 Geil 5-5-5-15. CPU-Z shows the correct timmings except the memory is running at 2T, is it possible to run at
1T?

There are no options in the bios to maually set this, is it a case of upping the voltage to 2.1 (currently 1.85). Or as i tend to run processor at stock, lowering the mem speed to 266 and upping the volts?

Thanks

Buy a motherboard that supports changing that timing. No amount of change voltage will change this value and sending to much current through your memory chips will lead to early memory death and hotter running parts.

With an Intel based chipset it's nearly impossible to set 1T. It can be done in the bios of an Nvidia based chipset. As far as i am aware the only Intel chipset mobo that you can set 1T in the bios is the one in my sig, the DFI LP UT P35-T2R. Even then, i have only ever been able to set 1T up to 345fsb. Which i think you will agree is fairly useless for getting a descent clock. Although Memset looks as if it can set 1T, if you try it, it will result in an instant reboot. Or it will just revert back to 2T.

So the Abit IP35 Pro cant do it?

Cob - your the man in the know on this board :)

The IP35 Pro can set the Command Rate to 1T. But you can pretty much forget about it as you near 800mhz in most cases.

But anyway the difference between 1T and 2T on Intel systems is very little. Pushing the memory as far as you can on 2T will yield better results than trying to get 1T stable.

Ohh why.
