I am looking to get a new home lab and have found an AMD EPYC 7551P, MB and 64GB 2133 RAM on the bay. Alternatively I can buy the CPU and MB but then have to source the RAM myself. As the CPU supports up to 3200 RAM should I go for this? If I get just teh MB and CPU, then add 64GB 2666 RAM this will cost me an extra £310. I just wanted to see if this would be worth it for the faster RAM? AS This is a lab I obvioulsy own't be running any heavy loads

That rather depends on the workload(s) you're going to put on the server. If its just serving files then performance doesn't matter a jot. If you want to eke every last CPU cycle out of it, then absolutely it will matter. Ryzen seems to be well-known for its RAM speed sensitivity, so I'd assume EPYC will be as well (though have no experience - I'm only using Xeons).

Also, bear in mind that the 7551P has 8 memory channels. If you're running CPU-intensive multi-core workloads, then you should also be thinking about how many of those you want to populate.
