Hi all,

I got a new computer about 2months ago now and it had 667mhz Ram in it. In cpu-z it shows that its Kingston PC2-5300 (333mhz). Ive read a little bit on these forums so I went into bios and set it to 667mhz (well I think i did, ill have another go now) but it still shows as 333mhz in cpu-z.

In the bios it says its 667mhz in like, disabled text about the memory, then i set the mhz option to manual and 667 (said 333, 667, or 800). So i set it to manual and 667, but the rest to auto. Should i change the rest, or whats the problem?

Thanks.

Is that not correct.

PC2-8000 = 400Mhz (800Mhz DDR)

so therefore PC2-5300 = 333Mhz (666Mhz DDR .... or 667Mhz).

Not too sure if the above is correct, but just incase it's not, have you perhaps checked to make sure it's not running a divider?

oh. sorry im a n00b. Thought it should have said 667, didnt realise it was halfed. Thanks lol.

PC2-3200 = 200MHz actual/400MHz DDR2
PC2-4200 = 266MHz actual/533MHz DDR2
PC2-5300 = 333MHz actual/667MHz DDR2
PC2-6400 = 400MHz actual/800MHz DDR2
PC2-7200 = 450MHz actual/900MHz DDR2
PC2-8000 = 500MHz actual/1000MHz DDR2
PC2-8500 = 533MHz actual/1066MHz DDR2
PC2-9000 = 550MHz actual/1100MHz DDR2
PC2-10000 = 600MHz actual/1200MHz DDR2

Yours is PC5300 so CPUz is correct in reading 333MHz.
