Memory speed query

I have an old motherboard that supports upto 2700 DDR SDRAM...now if i was to buy 3200 ddr instead, would that work on my motherboard?

Note: my mother board is ABIT KX7-333/KX7-333R

Cool..just another question about layers? What do they mean as my mother board doesn't specify in its manual anything about layers (eg. 6 Layer) and what does V-Data mean?
