Hi, new to the forums. I have a question regarding my memory speed. Shouldn't the frequency for the ram be 233mhz and not 133? Is there something wrong here? Ram is Corsair pc4200 533mhz? Thanks. Will be getting some g.skill 2gb LA tommorow.

Hi, Welcome to the forums..

Don't forget to read the FAQs and stuff.

The speed of the RAM is determined by the speed of the CPUs external clock. So where the FSB is 200MHz the memory will run at 400MHz (Double data rate) x 8 data bits = 3200 (PC3200)

However, bear in mind the Memory ratio.. 6/6 or 100% means the memory is running at the same speed at the external clock. 5/6 means that the same memory will run at 333MHz and not the full 400Mhz in my example. This is used when over clocking the the FSB but not the memory.

Please post the CPU info from CPU-Z..
