Hi There,

Its been about 10 years since I've built a PC so am like a newbie with the new technology.

The motherboard I'm buying supports the following memory:
DDR3 2400(O.C.)/2133/1866/1600/1333 MHz

I see that the A4-4000 3.00GHz supports DDR3-2400. Must I have DDR3 2400 Memory would 1333 Mhz work just as well?

The computer will simply be used for 1080p video playback, 1080p encoding, blu-ray ripping, Web and office.

APUs do benefit from fast RAM as the graphics uses it. So more oomph. You could use 1333MHz if need be but should see benefits all the way up to 2400.

If you have a 1333MHz set already? Could try overclocking it first. If you can get it to 1866/2133, save yourself money.

Otherwise 2400 memory is pretty cheap right now.
