Memory speed upgrade

Hello everybody.

I have ga-990x-ud3 running 16gb (cmx8gx3m2a1600c9) but with a FX8 cpu. Could someone please confirm that i can run CMX8GX3M2A2000C9 on my m/b as the memory support list on gigabyte website seems to be out-dated. I am building a new rig for myself as my dad needs a new rig and is prepared to buy new bits for my existing setup, hence new improved RAM.

In terms of Speed and Timings yes it should work. I did some benchhing recently on Giga board with DDR3 2200+ 7-11-7 etc etc which is far faster than C9 2000. The issue may be that some of the sub timings need adjusting to make it stable. This is not a defo though it may well be plug and play.

Well I have successfully updated the bios to F13 anyway and Windows7 still booted up perfectly. I half expected to have trouble with bsod and rebooting..
The board should be ok for new memory speeds and cpus for a while then ?!..
