Memory Speeds

I've got four memory slots in my mobo intended for two pairs, right? So if I put some old slower ram into my other two slots it won't slow thw other pair down. Is this right?

well yes all the ram will have to be ran at the same speed so if u have 800Mhz RAM in 2 slots and 533 RAM in the other slots all the RAM will be running at 533
