well having a bit of a problem with a friends camera, it needs more memory, and im a little confused on which to get. We know that the memory card needed is a memory stick duo but looking online there seems to be many variations of the memory stick duo, e.g. colour and shape, so im lost

can you guys help me and explain if tehre is a difference in the memoery sticks or if its just packagin but any device that can read and memory stick duo can read any.

On an auction website i have searched and found a 4gb memory card that comes with a duo pro adapter in silver, again this is different to the current 32mb purple one in the phone so lost if this will work or not.

so please help me out

any should fit any , should all be the same shape mind !

the colours are usualy just the different sizes or brands choice i think

you have to watch out for fakes on ebay mind !

got a link to the auction?

this one i was thinking but it seems to good to be true and the description says its a memory stick dup and 8gb

I think that is probably just a typo because to the best of my knowledge 4gb is the largest Memory Stick Duo Pro you can get currently (perhaps ever since M2 is the way they are going now).

A Memory Stick Duo Pro should fit into any player/camera that supports it, there is no difference in sizes provided it is actually a Duo Pro rather than a Duo or an M2 card. Sony and Sandisk cards are both made in the same factory, some are apparantly designed for faster writes (different colours and usually higher price) but I doubt it would really matter much for a camera. :)

there are 8 gig memory stick duo pro cards but they are difficult to find on the high streets in the UK.

Yes - the 8GB version was announced back at CES in January.

Make sure the camera supports Duo Pro and not just Duo. If you put a Duo Pro card in something that only supports the older Duo format, it'll fit, but not much will happen.
