Sorry for another one of these threads, but I'd really appreciate your help.

Here's my current hardware:

AMD Athlon 64 3500+
Corsair XMS 1GB TwinX Ram (Cas 2)
7800GTX (upgrading to X1900XT; about to place an order)

I want to upgrade my ram. My budget is around £120, but could stretch to £150 if necessary. I've considered Corsair, but everyone seems to think they're not all they're cracked up to be! Having said that, my current ram has been very good.

I WILL NOT BE OVERCLOCKING!
I don't want to waste money on ram which I won't use. I just want very good gaming performance. If it matters, I also plan to upgrade to X2 in the summer.

Can anyone suggest suitable ram for me?

Cheers,

I'm thinking of going for a Mushkin setup in my new rig, they seem to have a very good rep.

- Mushkin 2GB DDR EM3200 Enhanced Performance Dual Channel Kit (2x1GB) (£129.19 Including VAT at 17.5%)

With your budget I would go for the above.

lower timings = faster, another good set is the gskill hz, will run 2-3-2-5@ddr400 which is what youlll be using if your not overclocking. good ram it is to :)

G.Skill 2GB DDR HS PC3200 (2x1GB) CAS2.5 Dual Channel Kit (F1-3200USU2-2GBHS) (MY-009-GS)

What about that?

pretty much just as good. get it if your budget is a bit tighter + top of the line performance isnt a key prority. the difference will be minimal anyway :p

I've decided to hold out on the upgrade until a decent new game comes out. I guess my current ram is actually very good, and if I want faster games I'll need a raptor.
