Hi

I have posted this on the CPU area also so apologies for repetition!

I am buying my boyfriend some memory for his birthday soon. He will be overclocking it and I *think* he wants DDR2.

Firstly, can anyone tell me if there much difference between 8000 anf 8500 clock frquency?

Secondly, he has a C2D 6400 processor ... do I need to be careful what I choose due to compatibility?

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks :D

As far as OCing with an E6400 CPU, either PC8000 or PC8500 should be fine. OCUK has plenty of memory in both speeds to chose from. You may also want to look at the 2 x 2gb kits if they fall within your budget and you can get the PC8000 or PC8500 speeds. If not, 2 x 1gb is fine too.

You sound like a cool girlfriend, the world needs more kind people like you.

Hey,

There shouldn't be any compatibility issues with 8000/8500 DDR2 modules and a C2D 6400.

Yellowbeard is right, the world needs more kind people like you! :P

Hope your boyfriend enjoys his birthday,

Banjo
