Hi, my current specs.
Asus p5ne-sli board with 2x corsair 1gb xms2 memory sticks, these are set up at 4,4,4,12 and a few other tweeks cos they do not like the mobo.
I'm looking at adding 2gb more memory in the 2 empty slots (4 channel), can i put any make in there?
Because the bios is set to a timing do i have to find more 4,4,4,12 sticks.
Also the bios will not let me set timing up for individual slots.

Many thanks in advance:D

Hi and welcome

all your RAM has to run at the same speed and timings, so if you get slower RAM or same speed RAM with looser timings then both sets will have to go at the slower pace
So if you want to keep to 1066 4-4-4-12 you have to get the same or better
If you only bought 800 then your current set would downclock to that speed
Or if you bought 1066 with 5-5-5-15 then your current set would have to run at these looser timings
All that being said, apart from benchmarking the actual speed difference of RAM in real world apps is negligible

Thanks for help.
I've managed to find another set of Corsair xms2 4,4,4,12 sticks to put in there cheap.
Its an old system, but this should improve the running sweet for the price
