Hi everyone, completed the new build a few days ago, and have been benching the system for a few days now with no major problems.

I'm wondering why my mobo defaults my memory timings to 2T, and is there any harm in changing it to 1T?

My spec is:
OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC4000 Dual Channel Gold GX XTC Series EL-DDR CAS3 (OCZ5002048ELGEGXT-K) (MY-060-OC)
Opty 170 (Standard at the moment)
Asus A8N-SLI Premium
XFX 7900GT 520M extreme

The settings in BIOS are:
Timing Mode: Auto
Memclock index value: 400 mhz
Cas latency (TCL) : 3
Min ras active time (TRAS) : 7T
Ras to Cas delay (TRCD) : 4T
Row precharge time (TRP) : 3T
Row Cycle time (TRC) : 12T
Row refresh cycle time (TRFC) :15T
Read-to-write time (TRWT) : 5T
Write recovery time (TWR) : 3T
1T/2T memory timing : 2T
S/W Dram over 4gb remapping : Enabled
H/W Dram over 4gb remapping : Enabled

I want to be able to overclock the system once everything is running as I want it. I have been experiencing some minor errors and have reformatted accordingly. I did get a BSOD afterwards tho :( so have double checked my hardware has been seated properly.

What do you guys suggest I do to try and run my memory at 1T? I'm a complete beginner to builds/overclocking

Many Thanks

You should be running at 1T so dial that in :)

Give memtest86+ a run through once you have though, make sure you're not getting memory errors.
