ok i think there is something wrong with the memory timings on my friends computer atm, i was looking through everest ultimate edition benchmarks and under the "CL-RCD-RP-RAS" field it says: 5-7-7-23 now i'm pretty sure his timings are suppost to be 4-4-4-12 so how do i go about fixing this? or am i completely wrong?

have a look on the modules them selfs. if nothing, download everest home edition, and then look on there, gives a fair amount of detail on what they should be.
if that failes, at least everest will show you the model of the ram and details, then google becomes your best mate after that :)

good luck

dont u set memory timings yourself ?
my memory runs at 4-4-4-12 but when i set it to default it goes pretty high....either way it doesnt seem to affect perfomance...not on my conroe anyway.

think memory timings help amd cpu's more (or so i read somewhere).

If you have had other memory in your mobo which has ben manually set-up, you will have to change the timings yourself unless you change to auto/SPD. That way, the memory will provide the BIOS the correct timings.

If it's a Gigabyte board, you normally have to press CTRL+F1 (when ** in the BIOS) to view the memory timings, and as stated by admiral it should be in advance settings.
