Hi,

This might be a fairly simple and obvious question for people who know (which unfortunately isn't me), But could someone please advise if it is possible to upgrade the memory on my pc from its current 2gb of memory to 4gb?

Below is some information that might help you to detect whether an upgrade is possible for my pc:

Hi and welcome to the forums :)

Depends if it's the 45GM or the 45CM version.

The 45GM can take 2x2gb, whilst the 45CM can only take 2x1gb.

Download CPU-Z and see what its Motherboard tab says.

Hi Cob.

Thanks for the welcome and reply. :)

Unfortunately, the CPU-Z program is stating the same information that i posted before. It says: model 45GM/45CM.

Which seems a bit stupid if one can be upgraded to 4GB and one can only be 2GB and its not differentiating between the two!

Is there any other way that i might be able to find out which model mine is?

Meh I was hoping it it would be a Packard Bell. They let you find out the motherboard model.

Your best (and maybe only) hope is to see if the motherboard has the model printed on it.
