I'm look for some Memory upgrade advice for my Ryzen build, I was advised I could benefit from upgrading to 32gb.
I have the following RAM installed Team Group 8Pack 2x 8gb DDR4-3200 MHz CL 14-14-14-31

My PC spec:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5800x
Cooler: Noctua U12S
Motherboard: ROG CROSSHAIR VI HERO (WI-FI AC)
Ram: 16GB Team Group dark DDR4 3200 C14
GPU: Only a Titan X
SSD: 1tb Samsung 980

I from what I remember it was better to get DDR4-3200 at a low latency, but recently I can only find 32gb at 3200 CL16 or 3600 CL18 or higher
I have have rarely hit the 16GB.

My question is would I benefit from upgrading to 32gb at a high latency or Should I stick to the 16gb I have an just look out for a matching pair ?

16x2 is safer/easier to run than 8x4, but you do ideally want dual rank sticks (which Samsung b-die would have been, in 16GB capacity).

The difference between those speeds is irrelevant to you IF you're actually using the memory, which you'd have to check with task manager.

The furthest I was able to push the RAM usage to was 15.6gb. that's running a game Hogwarts legacy, CorelDRAW, YouTube video download and convert, running browser with multiple tabs inc a few YouTube, plus IE, software updater and playing a movie.

Should try something else ?

I was running this ram and managed to pick up another set off MM, got all 4 sticks running overclocked to 3733 and that’s on a cheapo B450 tomahawk.
Thanks, to be honest i've never looked too deeply into ram so I was not sure what I should do if I need to upgrade to 32gb.
I did have a look on MM but nothing much.

They tend to come up from time to time, you could try making a wanted post in case somebody has some laying around spare, they normally go for around £30

im sure this ram is on B-Grade.. i got a 32gb kit off there not too long ago but the 16gb 3200 was on there too
Yes, as far as i know its a B-Grade model. I've been looking for a 32gb but nothing on here recently or a matching 16gb, I would prefer 2x 16gb.

Any particular brand to get ?

i would prioritize cost over speed because even run with super tight timings it not that much faster really.
just get a good solid 32gb 3600Mhz kit and move on with your life.

if you had a crazy fast CPU or GPU and you was competing in Esports or somthing like that faster ram may be worth it, but in 90% of cases its just not
i have the 8pack stuff but only because it was a good price when buying

chucked in 32gb to smooth things out in cod and it would go over 20gb every now an then
