Memory upgrade - OC

Hi,

If i upgrade to Corsair Vengeance 12GB (3x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Triple Channel Kit and currently have 6 gigs of Corsair XMS3 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Triple Channel Kit will i need to re OC the i7 950 cpu which is currently OC t0 4.00 ghz.

you will need to make adjustments most likely but you should be able to hit 4ghz and 1600mhz again with 12gbs

Ok - thanks for that. No exspert in OC. Please tell me what i need to do or shall i just place the new ram in?. Also can i keep the original 6 gigs in to make it 18 gigs?
