Hello all, I'm a noob when it comes to memory selection and I'd just like a bit of advice. I've got an Asus P5N-D SLi motherboard, it's socket 775, and I've got an E8400 @ 3Ghz.

I want to up the RAM because atm it's just running the cheap Chinese rubbish that came with the (pre built) system.

What would be the best RAM to get for £40 or so. I'm hoping to play a few games so I'm after 4GB.

Cheers. :)

PS. I was looking at the OCZ Gold 4GB that's going this week only for £61.98. Seems to be a decent deal, I didn't realise the price of RAM until I just checked, I only thought it would be 40-50 for 2X2GB sticks! :o

If it's DDR2 ram then I recommend you to get it quick. Check the Asus site to see if it's compatible, and if you can buy it before prices go up any further :P

Yeah it's compatible, my motherboard will support higher speeds than that memory I think, but I'm not happy to pay any more than £55-60 ish for memory.
